Coach Brobst
Head Varsity Coach, Hamilton Southeastern Royals

Coach Brobst is in his 14th year of coaching HS wrestling and ninth  year at HSE, taking over from Hall of Fame Coach Kyle Poyer 9 seasons ago as the head coach. Prior to arriving in Fishers for the Royals, Coach Brobst was the Head Coach at Mooresville HS and began his head coaching career at TC Howe HS in Indianapolis. In his career, he has coached 12 state placers and 20 state qualifiers. At the club level, he has been the coach for 9 individual ISWA state champions in folkstyle, 8 freestyle and 6 Greco-Roman in addition to dozens of placers. Since coming to HSE 9 seasons ago, the Royals have boasted record numbers of Semi-State qualifiers each year, including a school record 10 in 2020 matches against in 2025, as well as 16 state qualifiers, with 6 placing and had 7 different Club Royals win state titles as well as 20 others get on the podium. He is married to his wife, Kacy, and they have a son, Logan, who is a 6th grader in the club and a daughter Avery, who is now a second grader. Coach Brobst is passionate about the sport and excited to build a culture of excellence on the East side of Fishers!


Coach Gear
Assistant Coach, HSE Varsity Wrestling

Coach Gear spent 4 years as Head Club Coach and 6 with the club before transitioning to mainly HS now. He will still help as needed. In his inaugural season of 2022-23, Coach Gear led the Elementary Royals Dual Team to a 7-3 Dual record and helped to coach an ISWA Folkstyle State champ, 4 ISWA Folkstyle State Placers, a Freestyle State Champion, and 7 Freestyle Style State Placers.
He followed that season up with 3 more impressive seasons culminating in last season where he coached 2 Freestyle state champs, 13 different ISWA Folkstyle state medalists and one triple crown winner.
Personally, he is married to his wife, Andrea, and they  have a 6th grader in the club, Brody, along with a daughter, Olivia, who is in 3rd grade.
